Beach Wedding Vow #3 — The Sand Pouring Ceremony

The Sand Pouring Ceremon is lovely. The idea is for each person to be presented with a small container of sand. These two containers are then poured into a third, representing the joining into the marriage partnership.

You may want to buy a keepsake kind of third container that will remain in your home as a reminder of the beach wedding, and your vows.

(Groom): We have sealed our relationship by the giving and receiving of rings and the exchange of a kiss.

(Bride): This covenant is a pledge that we will commit ourselves to one another throughout our lives.

(Groom): Today, our relationship is symbolized through the pouring of these two individual containers of sand.

(Bride): This one represents me, and all that I was, all that I am, and all that I will ever be.

(Groom): This one represents me, and all that I was, all that I am, and all that I will ever be.

(Bride): As we combine the sand into a third container, our individual containers of sand will no longer exist, but will be joined together as one.

(Groom): Just as these grains of sand can never be separated and poured again into the individual containers, so will our marriage be.
